So, You Got Into UCLA?
If you were one of the several applicants thrilled to get your acceptance letter from UCLA.. check again. You could be joining the 894 high school seniors who got their letter by mistake.
In fact, they’re only wait-listed, they learned in a follow-up apology from the school. “We realize this is a particularly stressful time for students and their families. We sincerely apologize for this mistake that may have led some of them to think they were admitted when they remain on the waiting lists,” a campus spokesman told the Los Angeles Times.
So far, not a single one of the students notified days ago has been moved off the waiting list (and they probably shouldn’t hold their breath). It’s hardly the biggest such mistake the California system has made. UC San Diego told 28,000 applicants they were accepted in 2009—not.
