Jessica Gonzalez: parole and pregnancy

19 August 2008 183 views No Comment

A prisoner, set to be paroled this month, will not be disciplined for having a sexual rendezvous with a supervisor. That authority figure was her boss at a work release program.

Corrections officials say Jessica Gonzalez, the woman who became the youngest person ever convicted of murder as an adult in Rhode Island, was removed this summer from her job at an East Providence elderly care center after officials learned of her relationship with the supervisor.

Gonzalez was 15 years old when she was convicted in 1998 of killing a former roommate. She is due to be paroled later in the month of August.

Corrections Department Director A.T. Wall says Gonzalez won’t be disciplined because department policy holds only supervisors responsible for sexual relationships with inmates.
