iHatemymarriage.us… it’s not for complaining
A billboard along North Semoran Blvd. in Orlando has peaked a lot of passerby’s curiosity.
The billboard shows the outline of a man and woman with the website ‘ihatemymarriage.us’ superimposed over top.
Visit the website and you’ll find out that the site belongs to the ‘New Spring Church’ and the billboard is referring to a series being taught by Senior Pastor Kirt Henman.
“In an age where there are a lot of relationships that are failing,” said the pastor. “We want to help people have successful relationships. I think anyone that has been in relationship has felt that to one degree or another.”
Pastor Henman added that he is not afraid to be bold about his sermons on marriage. His messages involve the principles of marriage according to the bible’s scriptures.
For the wives he quotes: ‘Respond to their husbands leadership”, Ephesians 5:22 and ‘Understand his need for sexual fulfilment’,1 Corinthians 7:3-5.
“We had one (lesson) that was ‘What woman want as well’ before,” Henman is quick to add.
Henman said husbands are to ‘honor your wife and be considerate and tender according to the bible’.
But the married pastor wants to make something very clear.
“I’m not here to pound on you or anything like that,” said Henman.
He added that he is not totally rigid and uncompromising.
The church currently meets each Sunday at Lake Howell High School.
