Kim Kardashian charity auctions? Not so charitable after all…
When Kim Kardashian, worth an estimated $35 million, auctions off her stuff through eBay Giving Works, she only gives 10% of the proceeds to charity.
Though the percentage is disclosed on each item’s page, “many times the public assumes that all the proceeds go to charity and not the celebrity,” says a PR professional. “But that is often not the case.” Sister Khloe usually gives 15% of her auction proceeds to charity.
A source close to the family defends the 10% figure by pointing out that most of the items auctioned off are things the Kardashians bought, as opposed to swag they were given, and notes that they have “privately” donated more in the past.
Former nanny planning Kardashian tell-all book
It looks like Kourtney, Kim and Khloe could be in for a huge reality check if a tell-all tome reportedly being penned by their former nanny ever sees the light of day.
Straight off the back of accusations that their clothing line is produced in sweatshops, the Kardashians are in the firing line again.
Pam Behan worked as a personal assistant, nanny and cook for Bruce and Kris Jenner for a number of years, and it sounds like she was taking notes the whole time.
Details from inside the book remain scarce, but it’s clear that Behan — who took care of the Kardashian-Jenner brood before they were famous — was not fond of Bruce Jenner’s sons, Brody and Brandon. According to TMZ, she describes them simply as “extremely spoiled and disrespectful.”
While she hasn’t found a publisher for the book yet, Pam plans to reveal some “intimate details” about Kourtney and Kim.
I don’t know… after a sex tape and a birth on camera I don’t know how much ‘personal’ this family can get.
Help get the Kardashians off TV: Sign petition to remove their shows from E!
Kim Kardashian is rumored to be on the edge of depression after her 72-day ‘marriage’ to NBA baller Kris Humphries crumbled and the public backlash which followed. There have been claims that her marriage was a hoax and now several organizations are petitioning to get the 31-year-old socialite, her sisters Khloe and Kourtney, and family succubus Kris Jenner off television screens.
Cyndy Snider, a 41-year-old Denver mom, is one of the organizers behind the “No More Kardashian” lobby, a grassroots initiative that petitioners hope will convince the E! Network to pull the plug on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as well as Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Khloe & Lamar, and all other Ryan Seacrest-produced Kardashian-featured productions presently in the works. The petition has received over 100,000 signatures since being introduced two weeks ago.
“In a grassroots effort, we have collected [thousands of] signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming,” Snider explains. “We feel that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption. While some may have begun watching the spectacle as mindless entertainment or as a sort of ‘reality satire,’ it is a sad truth that many young people are looking up to this family and are modelling their appearance and behavior after them.” (You can sign that here… go, sign it… SIGN IT NOW!!!!)
“I’ll remind you here that the Kardashian family fame largely started with a ‘leaked’ sex tape… I’m not aware of anybody in my neighborhood that’s going out and leaking their own sex tapes. They’re also not, as far as, with Playboy that’s got a mom behind them that’s saying, ‘That’s terrific.’”
For the record, Kim has denied speculation that her wedding was staged and says she would “never marry for a TV show or for money.” Celebrity snoops say the buzz is really getting to the reality star, who has pulled out of all public appearances through New Year’s Eve, when she’s scheduled to host a big “Welcome to 2012″ bash at TAO Las Vegas. She’s “nixed a ShoeDazzle tour in the UK, two book tours and an appearance at Z100’s Dec. 9 Jingle Ball,” The New York Post’s Page Six Column reports.
One insider says:
“Kim’s whole life is based on the public’s adoration of her. To lose that is terrifying for her. She can’t imagine not having hordes of fans and at the moment she’s just totally depressed. No-one would be surprised if she ends up in therapy.”
The Kardashians are split into two camps over the divorce, New Idea reports. Kim and her mother squaring off against the rest of the clan.
“Her family is furious with her for putting all of their careers in jeopardy. Their fans feel deceived by Kim and they’re lashing out at all of them. Encouraged by her mom, Kim has become a fame-addicted, money-hungry monster. She’s lost touch with reality. Her whole life is a product placement.”
Even Kim’s sisters aren’t exactly unwavering sources of support.
“Both Khloe and Kourtney take their relationships very seriously, and they know a big part of their popularity is because of their stable home lives. They feel Kim has cheapened that by rushing into a marriage for all the wrong reasons.”
Kim Kardashian suing publicist who called her wedding a ‘sham’
Kim Kardashian is suing the publicist who called her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries a “sham” staged to boost her reality program ratings.
“It was obvious that it was staged,” said Jonathan Jaxson recently. “There were contracts already in place for E! to film it.” She knew “weeks before” she didn’t want to go through with it because she’s “never gotten over” her ex, Reggie Bush, he insisted.
Kardashian, who has sicced lawyer Marty Singer on Jaxson, said the publicist’s “defamatory” comments have hurt her reputation, and she’s demanding $200,000 in damages
Kim Kardashian will have to pay up if she wants to keep wedding ring
When Kim Kardashian’s made-for-TV marriage fell apart just 72 days after it began, one of the big questions on the minds of everyone without a real life was, “Who gets to keep the ring?”
Insiders are now saying a bizarre clause in the Kardashian-Humphries prenup states the bride does — but only if she pays her estranged husband back for it.
It’s odd the stipulation got past the Kardashian legal team because if no mention of the ring had been made in the document, the reality star would’ve automatically been granted ownership of the gaudy bauble.
But bad karma aside, Kim reportedly wants to keep it and is willing to shell out big bucks to do so. The sparkler has an estimated worth of upwards of $2 million — but despite the Jenner-Kardashian denials, it’s pretty clear no one paid full-price for anything associated with the televised sham of a wedding.
In fact many have said Humphries paid a mere “fraction” of the ring’s value.
Celebrities… they’re just like regular folks.
Kris Humphries gets zilch, zero, nada in Kim Kardashian divorce
Kris Humphries told TMZ yesterday he was blindsided by wife Kim Kardashian’s decision to file for divorce, and insists he is “committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents” and “willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.” Kardashian, on the other hand, seems to be taking the harsher road: The Huffington Post reports that, according to the divorce documents, she wants the court to reject any spousal support requests from Humphries.
HuffPo also points to a June story from Us that delves into the prenup: All Kardashian’s assets prior to the marriage, as well as her earnings during their time together, are protected, while Humphries is entitled to nothing if the marriage fails. At the time, a source said, “He agreed to that. He’s not worried.” Adding insult to injury: Kim also gets to keep the $2 million ring, TMZ notes.
On a side note, the “what happened?!” stories continue to be trotted out:
- People points to a scene from an upcoming episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York in which Kim gripes, “How am I going to have my career and live in Minnesota?”
- Sources tell TMZ the truth is that Kris began “chasing fame” as soon as the marriage began to fall apart, and wanted to start “branding” his name and making nightclub appearances. Kim—who didn’t decide until Sunday night to file for divorce—was especially upset that Kris hired a publicist, complaining, “He’s not in f**king Hollywood. He plays sports.”
- Or maybe (which is were my money is at), the whole thing was a “hoax and a publicity stunt,” as sources tell Radar. “Kim was never in love with Kris. Kris certainly wasn’t in love with Kim,” says one. “It was pretty much an arranged marriage right from the start,” says another. “She was never particularly attracted to him, and by all accounts absolutely hated sleeping with him or even having to make out with him.”
Kim Kardashian files for divorce just 72 days after wedding
TMZ is reporting that Kim Kardashian filed for divorce this morning, after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss to Kris Humphries.
Kim Kardashian is reportedly not looking for an annulment, she is filing for good old fashioned divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011. According to the docs, Kim wants Kris to foot his own lawyers’ fees and she’ll pay hers. And, she wants the court to reject any move by Kris to get spousal support.
Kim has hired Laura Wasser, who has repped the likes of Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, and Robyn Gibson.
Ryan Seacrest confirmed the new on his Twitter feed.
Kris Humphries reportedly over Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Spywitnesses tell In Touch Weekly that Kris Humphries — sidelined by the on-going NBA lockout — is ready to rebel against Kim Kardashian’s reality TV show lifestyle and her family’s hit E! reality show… unless, of course, he’s offered more money to appear.
“Kris wants out of filming,” says a source. “They’ve (Kim and Kris) had no time without a camera. He knows he signed up for this, but I think it’s weighed on him. Kris makes only about $20,000 per episode, he gets a bonus from E! if they have a child, but it’s a tiny portion of what Kim gets, which is a lot. He wants more to make it worthwhile!”
This is true love people.
On Friday, TMZ released video of the pair in the middle of a heated argument in their car. The footage comes in the wake of numerous tabloid reports that Kris and Kim’s marriage may be on the rocks after only two months. With Kim upset about her husband’s “single man” partying ways, and Kris refusing to be filmed.
“She fell in love with him as an athlete, but now, he doesn’t work. He just spends their money. Work is Kim’s number-one priority, and she won’t let anything get in her way.”
