Tiger Woods Wins Memorial Tournament
Tiger Woods actually won something.
Tiger started Sunday 4 back at the Memorial Tournament but made a charge yesterday in Dublin, Ohio the home of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus.
Yesterday marked the 5th career win at Muirfield Village Golf Club, his first since 2009. Jack called Tiger’s shot on 16, one of the greatest golf shots he’s ever seen. “The most unbelievable, gutsy shot I’ve ever seen,” Nicklaus said from the TV booth. “Look at the position he was in. If he’s short, the tournament is over. If he’s long, the tournament is over. He puts it in the hole.”
A pumped-up Tiger was humble after the tournament telling reporters, “To do it here Jack watching on the last hole … he means a lot to all of us as players,” Woods said. “We all looked up to him, and he’s the greatest champion that’s ever lived.”
