Even superstars cut the cheese, right Tiger?
It’s the fart heard around the world. But was that really Tiger Woods cutting the cheese or just one of those iPhone iFart applications?
Woods, of course, won the Buick Open in Michigan over the weekend. He was 20 under for the tournament, helping him claim his 69th PGA Tour victory. But the biggest buzz surrounding the tournament and Tiger happened during Sunday’s final round on the No. 18.
A loud fart noise was picked up by the microphones nearby while Woods and his caddy were standing there. Tiger and his caddy Stevie Williams have both denied that it happened. “Tiger Woods fart” was in the top five of Google Trends, and it seems the PGA Tour is doing its best to block this video from being posted – good luck with that.
It was Tiger’s fourth win of the season in just 11 starts since returning from a 2008 knee surgery. He also improved to 36-1 when holding the outright lead after 54 holes of a tournament. The victory also moved Woods another step closer to the all-time PGA tour win record. He has 69 and trails only Sam Snead (82) and Jack Nicklaus (73).
Woods reached victory No. 69 at the age of 33 years and seven months – almost 7 years quicker than Nicklaus and eight years faster than Snead.
With wins in 2002, 2006 & 2009, Tiger joins Vijay Singh as the only three-time winners of the Buick Open and is one of five multiple winners of the tournament (3 wins-Singh, Woods; 2 wins-Tony Lema, Julius Boros, Kenny Perry).
There will never be anyone to beat this record, as GM has announced it is dropping sponsorship of this tournament.
