This week on PGA Tour: AT&T National
Tiger Woods is hosting and playing the AT&T National this week at Congressional Country Club in Washington, D.C., so whom do you think the overwhelming favorite on WagerWeb.com?
That would be Tiger, who is just +150 on WagerWeb.com. He actually hasn’t won his tournament yet, but he has only played it once after missing last year following knee surgery. Woods was in the field at the inaugural tournament in 2007, but K.J. Choi walked away with the trophy. Anthony Kim won last year, but Tiger is now at 100 percent, he says.
“To have a solid foundation to play from, that standpoint has just been phenomenal,” he said. “It feels great to be back. What my surgeons and trainers did to get me to this point has been great. … I always put in as much as I possibly can to win an event. I love being the greedy host.”
Hunter Mahan would seem to be in contention this week. He shot 63-64 over the weekend to finish fourth last week at the Travelers Championship. Mahan also has a pair of top-20 finishes at Congressional in the last couple of years.
Jim Furyk is due for a win, and he has finished third at this event two years running. He also finished fifth when the U.S. Open was held at Congressional in 1997.

Kim finished T11 last week, giving him back-to-back top-25s for the first time since the final two events of the 2008 FedEx Cup playoffs. So it appears his game has been righted.
A decent long-shot bet on WagerWeb.com might be Paul Goydos (+5000), who is playing some of the best golf of his 17-year PGA Tour career. Goydos has three tour-four finishes in his past four events – he had never recorded three top-10s in four events before this stretch.
Goydos has shot 11 of his last 14 rounds in the 60s and is riding a streak of seven in a row.
“I took advantage of good play on golf courses that I like and fit my game,” he said.
However, Goydos withdrew after an opening-round 77 last year at this tournament.
