NFL Week 17 odds: St. Louis at Seattle

Seattle has clinched a playoff berth but is still in contention for the NFC West division title. The Seahawks can claim the division with a victory and a San Francisco loss. If Seattle wins and both San Francisco and Green Bay lose, the Seahawks will clinch the NFC West and secure a first-round bye.

“It’s been coming together for us,” says Seattle head coach Pete Carroll. “We’re getting better and you can just feel it and see it. It’s coming to life for us.”

The Rams beat Tampa Bay 28-13 last week. Sam Bradford threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bradford completed 13-of-27 passes with one interception, while Lance Kendricks had a huge day through the air, catching four passes for 119 yards — including an 80-yard touchdown — for the Rams (7-7-1), who still can finish with a winning record. Steven Jackson ran for 81 yards and a score on 19 carries for St. Louis, which has four of their last five.

In their past three games the Seahawks have averaged nearly 13 points in the first quarter alone and more than 32 points in the first half of each game. It’s their ability to come out with a very high level of intensity and strike quickly that has allowed them to dictate the flow of the game. They do an excellent job of playing from a lead. Their explosive pass-rushers attack the pocket and their secondary can gamble more often, which has resulted in more sacks and interceptions.

St. Louis beat Seattle 19-13 back on Sept. 30.
