NFL Week 17 odds: Jacksonville at Tennessee

The probably would like to lose Sunday at Tennessee as Jacksonville is fighting Kansas City for the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

The Jaguars come off a 23-16 loss to New England. Chad Henne was 29-of-51 for 348 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions for the Jaguars (2-13), who squandered a 10-0 first- quarter lead. New Jaguars owner Shad Khan has to decide if first-year coach Mike Mularkey and general manager Gene Smith will return after the team missed the playoffs for a fifth straight season. The Jaguars, who’ve dropped 11 of 12 overall, must end a five-game road losing streak to complete their first season sweep of the Titans since 2005. Jacksonville ended a seven-game overall slide with a 24-19 victory over the Titans on Nov. 25.

The Titans were blasted 55-7 by Green Bay in Week 16. Tennessee quarterback Jake Locker struggled all day, going just 13-of-30 through the air for 140 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions in the setback, Tennessee’s fourth in its last five games. In their second season under Mike Munchak, the Titans (5-10) have missed the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year. They have major questions on both sides of the ball as second-year quarterback Locker has more interceptions (11) than touchdown passes (10) and the team is giving up a league-worst 30.1 points per game.

Tennessee’s Chris Johnson is arguably the most explosive ball carrier in the NFL thanks to rare speed. When the Titans are able to get him into space he can cause a lot of problems. This season it has been a little sink or swim for Johnson. He has tied a career high in games with 50 or fewer rushing yards yet still has gained over 1,100 yards. Jacksonville is ranked 31st in rushing defense, and Johnson could put up some big numbers if he can get off to a good start.
