NFL preseason opener: Bills vs. Titans
After six long months away, the NFL returns on Sunday night with the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, between the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans.
Tennessee has opened as a 2.5-point favorite on WagerWeb.com.
It’s a preseason game, so I won’t break this down too much. But there are a few things worth watching. Certainly one is the Buffalo debut of Terrell Owens, who has become a fan favorite already in Buffalo. With former Bills star Bruce Smith and Bills founder Ralph Wilson Jr. being inducted into the Hall this weekend, there probably will be tons of Bills fans at this game.
Another advantage for Buffalo might be that the Titans started training camp later than many teams but have their first preseason game a week earlier than the rest. Buffalo was the first team in camp. By the way, Bills running back Marshawn Lynch can play in this game. Of course Lynch has been suspended for the first three games of the regular season for his arrest this offseason. A bad back is expected to prevent Bills starting right tackle Brad Butler from playing in the preseason opener.

Meanwhile, Titans QB Vince Young, who is No. 2 on the depth chart behind Kerry Collins, probably will see a decent amount of time in the game.
Tennessee first-round pick Kenny Britt, a wide receiver from Rutgers, will not play in Sunday’s game. He should be back up to full speed by early next week and available for the Titans’ second preseason game. Running back LenDale White, down 30 pounds from last year, has been battling the flu but should see some carries.
Because the Bills and Titans are former AFL teams (Titans as the Oilers), the teams will wear replicas of their original AFL uniforms. Throughout the upcoming NFL season, other AFL teams will do the same in certain games.
