Dallas Cowboys (5-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)
Great matchup on Sunday night this week – this game will easily draw the biggest handle of the week on WagerWeb.com – as streaking Dallas visits Philly with first place in the NFC East on the line.
The Eagles are 3-point betting favorites on WagerWeb.com.
Dallas has won three in a row. The first victory was an ugly one at Kansas City, but then following a bye week the Cowboys have been very impressive in beating Atlanta and Seattle by a combined 37 points. But those two games were at home.
The Eagles have won two in a row since a shocking loss to the Raiders; Philly pounded the Giants last week, 40-17. DeSean Jackson had a 54-yard TD catch in that one and has become one of the top big-play guys in the league. He is just the second player in NFL history with six TDs of at least 50 yards within the first seven games of a season.
Philly played last week without running back Brian Westbrook (concussion), but LeSean McCoy and Leonard Weaver combined for 157 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles held Westbrook out of practice Friday but he did practice the previous two days and should play Sunday.
Donovan McNabb had 240 yards and three touchdowns with a 146.7 rating vs. the Giants. It was McNabb’s 44th career 100+ rating game (including playoffs), and he is now 42-2 in those contests
Cowboys QB Tony Romo has won 12 consecutive November starts, and he has a new favorite target in Miles Austin, who has 21 catches for 482 yards and five TDs during the winning streak, which also represents his first three NFL starts. Those are most yards for a receiver in his first three starts since the 1970 merger.
Romo hasn’t thrown an interception in a career-high three straight games while passing for eight touchdowns. His rating was 108.1, and Dallas is 23-3 all-time when Romo has a 100+ rating game (including playoffs). In his two career wins over the Eagles, Romo has completed 74.5 percent of his passes, thrown six touchdown passes with two picks and wasn’t sacked once. In three career losses to Philly, Romo has a 46.1 completion percentage, a 5.18 yards-per-attempt average, one TD pass and six interceptions and was sacked 10 times.
The Eagles’ defense has allowed 17 points or fewer in each of the last five games. That unit is tied for second in the league with 23 sacks and third in interceptions (14).
The last time the Cowboys visited Philly, they lost 44-6 and were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17 of 2008. The Eagles have won four of the past six in this series.
