Cowboys’ Barber to miss a game or two

The Dallas media is reporting that Cowboys starting running back , who went down in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s loss to the Giants, will miss one to two weeks with a quadriceps injury.

Barber pulled up lame on a run that might have resulted in a Cowboys touchdown, but he hobbled for about five yards before crumpling to the turf at Cowboys Stadium.

This would mean much more time for Felix Jones, who rushed for 96 yards on seven carries against the Giants and scored a touchdown. His 56-yard run off left tackle in the third quarter set up another Cowboys score.

“We want to get him in, certainly,” coach Wade Phillips said. “You can see why. He’s capable of making a big play at any time.”

Also seeing some carries would be Tashard Choice, who came on late last year when Barber was hurt. The Cowboys host Carolina next Monday – bet on the game at WagerWeb.com.

Barber has had a nice start to the season. In 32 carries over the first two games of the year, Barber has amassed 203 yards and two touchdowns, while averaging 6.3 yards a carry. Dallas had 251 yards rushing in the loss to the Giants, its most since 1993.

“First, I hate to see him go down, I hate to have to play for one of my teammates getting hurt,” said Choice. “He looked good, on a roll. [It will be] interesting to see how it’s gonna turn around this week.”
