Closer look at Chicago Bears’ 2009 schedule
Jay Cutler’s first game with the Bears will be in the NFL’s oldest rivalry when Chicago visits Green Bay in the first Sunday night game of 2009.
The Bears have five prime-time matchups in their 2009 schedule, and the combined 2008 record of this year’s opponents (105-149-2, .414) makes it the easiest schedule in the league. However, the Bears also play all four conference finalists from last season.
“We’re excited about this year’s schedule,” Bears coach Lovie Smith said. “It’s always nice to have a number of nationally-televised games, and with five on the schedule, our fans around the country will have plenty of opportunities to watch us in prime time. We look forward to the challenge of playing four of our first six games on the road, but I like that we only have one two-game road stretch and the fact we play three home games in December where I know our fans will give us an advantage.”
That Week 10 game should be interesting, as the Bears face former Chicago legendary linebacker Mike Singletary for the first time with the Hall of Famer as a head coach.
This marks the fourth consecutive season the Bears are scheduled to have five prime-time games. The Bears don’t have a single opponent on the schedule that will get an extra week to prepare for them. Every Bears’ opponent has a game the week before the Bears face them.

Chicago is +1800 on WagerWeb.com to win Super Bowl XLIV.
