Cards’ Boldin will play vs. Eagles
Pro Bowl receiver Anquan Boldin returned to Cardinals practice on Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion, and proclaimed he indeed will play in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles, who remain 4-point favorites on WagerWeb.com.
Boldin traveled to Dallas this week to receive treatment from a chiropractor for his strained hamstring, which he said did wonders after he sat out last week against Carolina. Boldin probably won’t practice fully leading up to the game just to be safe.
“I don’t see me having any problems or hindrances,” he said of playing. “I just see myself resuming my regular role.”
The Arizona coaching staff was a bit more cautiously optimistic.
“Obviously, we’ve got to see him do some work this week in practice,” Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “But like we said last week, if he was ready to go, even in a limited role, we would have liked to have had him. If he continues to progress like we think he is, I have no doubts that he would play.”

Boldin injured his hamstring on a 71-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter of Arizona’s 30-24 wild card playoff victory over Atlanta. He tested the hamstring before the Carolina game and said he would have played if the team’s medical staff had let him.
Boldin added that the hamstring problem turned out to be related to a hip injury that sidelined him for three games last season.
The former Florida State star didn’t play well against the Eagles earlier this season (five catches for 63 yards), dropping a pass in the end zone and fumbling. Afterward, he called it perhaps his worst NFL game.
“It’s rare you get a second chance at anything, so I’ll make the most of it on Sunday,” he said.
Ironically, when Boldin made a trade demand last spring because he was unhappy with his contract, the Eagles were the first team to make an offer, but one that wasn’t enough to tempt Arizona. However, with his injury problems this year (missing five games – in which Arizona is 4-1), Boldin could be on the trade market this offseason.
