Arizona Cardinals (3-2) at New York Giants (5-1)

Good Sunday night matchup in New York this week, as the past two NFC champions, Arizona and the Giants, face off in the Meadowlands.

New York, which is coming off a pummeling at New Orleans, is a 7-point favorite on WagerWeb.com.

The Giant defense dropped from first to eighth after giving up 48 points and 493 yards at New Orleans last week. The New York coaches said they didn’t blitz Drew Brees enough last Sunday (they didn’t sack him once), so expect a lot of that this week against Kurt Warner, who had his third 100+ rating of the season in Week 6, and the Cardinals are now 3-0 when he’s done so. Arizona has won 10 straight games when Warner’s rating tops the century mark.

.The Arizona defense has been very good against the run this year. The Cardinals’ yield of 2.8 yards per rush is better than any other team by half a yard. Arizona is the only team to limit two foes to less than 40 yards rushing in a game. The Cardinals established a new team record by allowing just 14 rushing yards last week against Seattle. Brandon Jacobs really hasn’t gotten going on the ground for the G-men. Ahmad Bradshaw leads the team with a 6.2 yard per carry average.

Meanwhile, Cards WR Larry Fitzgerald has exploded the past two weeks after a slow start. In the past two games, Fitzgerald has 18 catches for 179 yards and three touchdowns. He could have a field day against a New York secondary that is banged up and was torched by Brees last week.

Fellow WR Anquan Boldin is questionable for Sunday night’s game after going through a limited practice on Friday. It was the first time all week that Boldin had participated in practice after spraining his right ankle in last Sunday’s 27-3 victory.

New York is 4-2 against the spread this year, while Arizona is 3-2. Arizona is 2-0 on the road in 2009, but just 1-5 in its last six regular-season games in the Eastern Time Zone.
