Texas Tech (10-0, 6-0 Big 12) at Oklahoma (9-1, 5-1)

Easily the game of the day Saturday is in Norman, Okla., where the national championship picture should get slightly clearer with the result of the Texas Tech-Oklahoma game. The Red Raiders are 7-point underdogs on WagerWeb.com.

With a win, No. 2 Texas Tech will clinch the Big 12 South and a date with Missouri in the conference title game. A loss would likely knock the Red Raiders out of any BCS bowl with either Texas or Oklahoma taking their place in the Big 12 title game.

If it’s possible, No. 5 Oklahoma is even hotter than TTU, having averaged 62 points over the past three games. The Sooners also lead the nation in turnover margin and rank third in sacks and second in passing efficiency.

Still, how can you doubt Graham Harrell and Texas Tech after beating Texas and in its past two games? Of course, both of those were in Lubbock. Oklahoma has won 23 in a row at home, outscoring opponents 1,020-392 during the run.

You can be sure that the Sooners will double team Tech WR Michael Crabtree. He’s the guy that beat Texas and leads the country with 18 touchdown catches. Last year against the Sooners, a 34-27 Texas Tech win, Crabtree had 12 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. He has caught a TD in 13 straight games.

TTU’s defense held Texas and to a very respectable average of 26.5 points the last two games, but Sam Bradford is another story. The OU quarterback is directing the third-most proficient offense in passing yards per game (355.5) and total yards (549.8). Bradford was knocked out of last year’s matchup with a concussion in the first quarter.

Of course, Harrell has been just as good, leading an offense to a national-best 433.7 passing yards per game, and the Red Raiders are third in scoring at 47.9 points a contest. They’ve gained at least 421 yards in every game and lead Division I in average total yards at 566.3. Harrell shredded Oklahoma for 420 yards and two touchdowns last year.

Red Raiders coach Mike Leach has never won in Norman, while TTU has never beaten Oklahoma and Texas in the same season.

I would definitely recommend the over on WagerWeb.com.
