No one is playing better than Purdue in the Big Ten, and the preseason conference favorites can grab a share of the Big Ten lead by beating Ohio State in Columbus tonight.

The are 2.5-point favorites on WagerWeb.com.

Behind current Big Ten Player of the Week Evan Turner, OSU shot 60 percent in wins over Michigan and Indiana last week and has shot better than 50 percent in six of the past seven games. Turner leads the Buckeyes in scoring (16.6 points), rebounding (7.2) and steals (41). He shoots 51.7 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range, 78.2 percent from the line.

OSU shoots 47.5 percent from the field and average 6.0 blocks. The Buckeyes can play big with 7-foot B.J. Mullens and 6-8 Dallas Lauderdale, which could give Purdue some issue.

No. 12 Purdue has allowed opponents to make only 36 percent of their shots, best in the Big Ten. The have allowed only 57.4 points per game, second-fewest behind Illinois.

“They’re a great shooting team, and they have athleticism, skill and size,” Purdue coach Matt Painter said. “They do a great job defensively. They have a lot of weapons. We have to do a good job on their shooters and in the interior.”

The Buckeyes need this win for their NCAA Tournament resume – OSU’s five Big Ten victories have come against teams with a combined 6-21 league record.

Purdue has won six consecutive conference games and has three capable scorers in E’Twaun Moore (14.3 points per game), Robbie Hummel (12.9) and JaJuan Johnson (12.5). Purdue has won three straight road games but has not won in Columbus since Feb. 7, 1998, and has dropped 14 of the last 16 meetings overall between the schools.

Ohio State has won two in a row overall and is 3-1 at home in the Big Ten, with the lone loss a 78-67 defeat to Michigan State on Jan. 25. But the Buckeyes are just 4-5 ATS at home this year.
