2010 ACC football schedules are out
The Atlantic Coast Conference had another disappointing bowl season last year and early in 2010, including Georgia Tech – the conference champ – losing to Iowa in the Orange Bowl. The ACC has yet to have to BCS bowl teams and hasn’t had a team in contention for the national title in more than a decade. Will that change in 2010? Many believe the Virginia Tech will be in the preseason Top 10 and both Miami and Florida State in the Top 15 or so of the polls. Georgia Tech lost a ton of juniors to the NFL and may have a hard time finding the same success this year, while Clemson, which played Tech in the ACC title game, lost C.J. Spiller to graduation.
It should be a wide-open race, but look for Florida State to face Miami on Dec. 4 in Charlotte for the ACC Championship. One thing is certain – the Coastal Division is much more loaded with quality teams than the Atlantic. The Seminoles should have little trouble winning the Atlantic, while the Hokies, Jackets and North Carolina all should challenge Miami in the Coastal.
