Wednesday college basketball odds: No. 5 Duke at Wake Forest

Duke was destroyed last Wednesday at Miami in one of the worst losses ever for a top-ranked team, but the Blue Devils bounced back with an 84-64 home win over Maryland on Saturday. Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon scored a season-high 25 points for Duke. Mason Plumlee added 19 points and Seth Curry had 13 for the Blue Devils (17-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).They had just four turnovers — none in the second half — while hitting 11 3-pointers and shooting 52 percent against a Maryland defense that hadn’t allowed anyone else to shoot better than 44 percent. Plumlee finished 9 of 12 while Sulaimon was 9 of 13 with six 3-pointers — twice as many as his previous high, and four in a 3-minute span of the first half.

Wake Forest lost 82-62 at Georgia Tech on Saturday. Georgia Tech (11-7, 1-5) was never threatened as it became the last ACC team to win its first conference game. It kept its leads in double figures for the final 38 minutes. C.J. Harris had 18 points for Wake Forest (10-9, 3-4), which fell to 0-4 in road conference games. The Demon Deacons fell flat following their 86-84 upset of No. 18 North Carolina State.

The Blue Devils are looking for their first true road win of the season. Duke is 0-2 in ACC road games this season after going 8-0 on league opponents home courts last season. Duke leads the all-time series against Wake Forest 161-77, including a 26-6 mark since the 1996-97 season. The Blue Devils are 42-23 against Wake Forest under Mike Krzyzewski.
