Thanks to an 11-1 win over Cole Hamels and the Phils on Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves have secured the team’s first series win since May 22-24 against the Blue Jays.

And Atlanta is a -141 money line favorite on WagerWeb.com to finish the sweep tonight. The Braves have won three in a row and now sit just three games behind the first-place Phillies in the NL East.

As for Philly, it can’t buy a win, losing 13 of 17, and the watch continues. Rollins went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Wednesday. He is hitless in his past 27 at-bats, which set a career high.

His previous career high had been a 25 at-bat hitless streak from June 18-24, 2002.

“I got a walk. That was a positive. That was good. I stole a bag on a horrible jump, he said.

Rollins is hitting .205 with a .250 on-base percentage. He has the fifth-lowest average in baseball and the lowest on-base percentage in the majors. Philadelphia has scored two or fewer runs five times in the last 11 contests.

The Phils turn to rookie left-hander J.A. Happ tonight. Happ allowed just five hits in the first shutout of his career Saturday against the Blue Jays. He was moved up a day to start tonight because he has had good success against Atlanta – he threw six scoreless innings against the Braves at Turner Field on Sept. 17 and allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings against the Braves at Citizens Bank Park on Sept. 22.

Atlanta starts Javier Vazquez (5-7, 3.04) tonight. Against the Phillies on May 9, Vazquez threw 7 2/3 innings and struck out seven on his way to a win. He is second in the NL in strikeouts this season.

The Braves are 26-4 when leading after six innings this year. The Phillies are 0-7 in their last 7 games vs.
a right-handed starter.
