While previewing Thursday-s Mets-Braves game, I wrote that if Atlanta got to closer Rafael Soriano that the game was over.

I was right.

Soriano closed out Atlanta-s 5-3 win on Thursday, lowering his ERA to 1.44 and now has 13 saves in 14 chances. Chipper Jones drove in the go-ahead run for the Braves and is batting .333 with four RBIs against the Mets this season.

The Mets bullpen struggled again, allowing five hits and two earned runs in two innings. The Mets have lost eight of their last 10 road games. Atlanta, meanwhile, has won five of its last seven games, five in a row at home and is 3-3 against the Mets this season.

As for tonight-s Game 2 of the series, the Braves are big -230 favorites on WagerWeb.com behind ace .

Despite having one of the NL-s best ERAs, Jurrjens (7-7, 2.91 ERA) has won just two of his last eight starts. The Braves are averaging 3.4 runs during these outings. Jurrjens faces the Mets, who have lost four straight on the road, for the second time this season. In a 4-3, 10-inning loss at Citi Field on May 12, he surrendered two runs and seven hits in 7 2/3 innings.

The Braves are 7-3 in Jurrjens- last 10 starts vs. a team with a losing record.

New York counters with Mike Pelfrey (7-4, 4.47). The Mets have lost five of his eight most recent starts.

Pelfrey had a seven-inning no-decision against the Braves at Citi Field on May 12. He allowed two runs in the 4-3 victory.

The Mets are 1-7 in their last 8 road games vs. a right-handed starter.

Brian McCann has a .400 average in 20 at-bats against Pelfrey, while Jones has two home runs and a .308 average in 13 at-bats against the Mets starter.
