Angry fans make petition to get Larry Johnson fired
Kansas City Chiefs fans want Larry Johnson out, according to ESPN.com.
The controversial running back is 75 yards from becoming the team’s all-time leading rusher, and that’s not going over so well with some fans. An online petition signed by thousands of loyal Chiefs fans have signed a petition asks general manager Scott Pioli to keep Larry Johnson’s name out of the Chiefs Hall of Fame forever by sidelining the star.
“We are asking you, as fans of this team, this organization, and of the pride that this city has in the Chiefs, please deactivate Larry Johnson. Please do not let his name sit atop the all-time rushing leaders in Kansas City Chiefs history,” the petition reads. “He has never represented anything close to the values that we have for our Chiefs and it would be another dagger to the fans that continue to support this proud franchise.”
Late last month, Johnson — who has a history of poor behavior both on and off the field — was slammed with a two-week suspension after her made two gay slurs within a 24-hour period. The Kansas City Chiefs have ordered Johnson to stay away from training and team activities while they investigate alleged comments made on his Twitter account about Chiefs coach Todd Haley after the team’s 37-7 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Oct. 25.
