Kate Middleton ‘Graduates’, Now Official Member Of British Monarchy
Kate Middleton has something new to celebrate besides her first wedding anniversary: Her “induction” is now complete and St. James’ Palace considers her a “fully fledged member” of the British monarchy, a senior royal source tells CNN. She achieved this vaunted status by fulfilling all her objectives of the past year, including charity work and her first speech, the source explains. Prior to the royal wedding, some had feared the “commoner” Kate would have a difficult transition.
Helping her along: her father-in-law, Prince Charles. “They spend a lot of time together. They go on visits to the opera and art galleries,” the source says. “They share passions that neither of the princes share. They get on very well.” Kate also has “a warm relationship” with the queen. The source spoke to CNN for its upcoming documentary The Royals: Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, airing May 4.
