Barbie gets a tramp stamp!! Totally Stylin’ Tattoo Barbie coming out soon

While little girls feel incomplete without having a Barbie doll adult women constantly strive to be like her.

The fashion model who has been a rage the world over for her iconic style turns 50 in some days from now, but she has not aged. She still has skin to die for, the body any woman would kill for and now she even has a tattoo. But her brand new avatar is not all that popular this time.

Mattel’s new offering is a Barbie doll covered in tattoos. She’ll be called “Totally Styli Tattoos Barbie” and will hit the market in spring. In keeping with the Barbie tradition, the doll will come with tattoo stickers that can be put anywhere a little girl wants to place them on the doll. Some adults view this as inappropriate for their children.

Jenn Alcayaga said confirming this, “I think it’s attracting kids too young that want to expose parts of body to show off tattoos” while another potential customer Beth Kirkpatrick backed off saying, “I guess I’m old school. That would not fly. I would not buy that for my granddaughters.”

According to collectors this is not the first time that Mattel has tread the red line. In 1999 the “Generation Girl” series went under fire because one had a nose ring and another had an ankle tattoo, for the first time. In 1995 Teacher Barbie was recalled because she was not wearing panties. In 2002 again Mattel released a pregnant Midge doll. The best friend of Barbie was pregnant and on opening her stomach a baby would pop out. Complaints poured in and stores like Wal-Mart were forced to stop sales of the pregnant Midge.

    That bottom image is not a Mattel product and, as far as I know, can’t be produced by their kit (I don’t have $41 to spend on it!) That design was made by my daughters, ages 12 and 8. They sell it on their site, dolltattoos.com. In fact, that image was likely taken by one of our first customers! The irony here is that visitors to the site were flat, almost nil, until stories like this, with that image, started popping up.

Atualmente assumo para as pessoas que sou colecionadora sim, mas ne3o tenho sf3 barbies. He1 algum tempo que me apaixonei tambe9m pelas bonecas Madame Alexander. O estilo e9 diferente da Barbie, mas se3o lindas tambe9m. Quando tiver algumas fotos compartilho com voceas, pois ate9 hoje ne3o me preocupei em fotografe1-las e nem de contar quantas bonecas je1 tenho, mas acho que no total, incluindo as MA, deve ser umas 200. Enfim, que bom saber que existem outros colecionadores com a mesma paixe3o por este hobbie incredvel. A propf3sito tenho um filho de 8 anos. Ele respeita a minha colee7e3o e ate9 opina as vezes se acha alguma bonita, mas o que ele curte mesmo e9 playmobil. Se gostasse de barbie, pore9m, ne3o teria nada demais. Je1 pensaram em uma coisa? As bonecas reproduzem mulheres; se os homens gostam de mulheres porque ne3o podem apreciar bonecas tambe9m? Como disse a Silvana, somente quem e9 colecionador consegue entender. Bjos para todos
