Special Family Guy episode to air on Nov 8
FOX’s Family Guy special will air November 8 with an exclusive Microsoft sponsorship, the network announced Wednesday.
The half-hour episode – titled Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show -will also broadcast without its usual commercials; instead, it will be infiltrated with Microsoft Windows 7-based advertisements.
“We’re thrilled to be joining forces with Windows 7 on such an exciting, highly collaborative marketing campaign featuring the very unique talents of Seth MacFarlane as he overhauls the old Hollywood tradition of the sponsored variety show by marrying Windows 7 messaging with content,” a FOX spokesperson said Wednesday.
The Family Guy special will include original animation, live-action performances of Family Guy musical numbers, comedy sketches, and celebrity guests. According to a press release, the episode “will highlight the comedy duo’s subversive and unique humour with original animation, live-action performances of Family Guy’s most memorable musical numbers, comedy sketches and surprise celebrity guests.”
