Paula Abdul may not return to American Idol
Paula Abdul may not return to American Idol for a ninth season, the star’s new manager claimed in a new interview with The Los Angeles Times.
“She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry,” David Sonenberg, the Idol judge’s manager of one week, told the publication on Friday.
What has Paula so disturbed? Well, with Season 9 audition already underway, Sonenberg say still he has yet to receive a proposal for a new contract for Paula. It’s looking less likely that will be back on the show she’s judged for eight seasons, Sonenberg says.
“I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful,” he told The Times. “I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”
“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol.”
The often-controversial judge has routinely been on the receiving end of harsh critiques from Idol fans, who have berated Paula for so-called bizarre behavior — on and off the set. Paula is reportedly in talks to choreograph a cheerleading/dance extravaganza on the Las Vegas strip.
