Jon & Kate vs. Octomom on new Law and Order episode
From the tabloids to primetime TV: Warring reality couple Jon & Kate Gosselin and trouty-pout Octomom Nadya Suleman have inspired their very own “Ripped From The Headlines” episode on the 20th season of NBC’s veteran crime drama Law & Order.
Next Friday’s episode was inspired by the headline-grabbing parents and their child armies, Law & Order Executive Producer Rene Balcer told Access Hollywood on Tuesday.
In the episode, a family patterned after The Gosselins,of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 fame, battle it out with a single mama of multiples created in the image of real-life foe Nadya Suleman.
“Two families with multiple kids [compete] to land a reality TV contract,” Balcer says. “Out of that, a murder occurs and then, as the episode goes on, suddenly our lawyers get roped into the reality TV show…..It’s sort of inspired by the phenomenon — shows about multiples,” he explains.
“There’s lots of kids. There’s …Oh God, I don’t know if we hit 20, but we come pretty close.”
