Only a week after announcing her engagement to Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson is the victim of pregnancy rumors. Sources allege that the 23-year-old’s pregnancy explains her sudden engagement to the ‘Fall Out Boy’ rocker, 28.

“We are thrilled to confirm their engagement and congratulate this happy couple. Beyond that there is nothing to say,” says a spokesperson for the couple.

Meanwhile, Ashlee’s older sister Jessica Simpson has publically given her approval of the engagement. “Pete is an incredible soul. They naturally bring out the best in each other. I couldn’t be happier,” the singer and actress said.
