Andy Richter kicks Wolf Blitzer’s ass on Jeopardy (video)
Wolf Blitzer may know the news, but his trivia skills need some serious polishing. The host of CNN’s Situation Room had trouble answering a number of basic questions on an episode of Celebrity Jeopardy! on Thursday, landing at a score of negative $4,600 by the end of Double Jeopardy… goes to show you, just because you sound smart on tv doesn’t mean you actually are.
In a scene reminiscent of an SNL parody, Wolf failed to identify a photograph of penne pasta, didn’t know King David and Jesus Christ hailed from Nazareth, and he fumbled over a question on 1850s economics. The political journalist struggled to identify the term used to refer to an accused person and their counsel in court — the defense.
Andy Richter, on the other hand, did great! The Tonight Show sidekick won the show, earning $68,000 for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Even Desperate Housewives actress Dana Delany made out well, finishing in second place.
As a good will gesture, Jeopardy! producer presented Wolf and Dana with $25,000 for their chosen charities, the American Cancer Society and the Scleroderma Research Foundation, respectively.
